CB Jimmie Ward, who suffered a concussion on Sunday against the New England Patriots, has been cleared for non-contact football activity. He is currently in the league-mandated concussion protocol. Ward did not practice yesterday but took limited part in practice today.
Head coach Chip Kelly spoke to the media via conference call today and was asked if Ward would play on Sunday. "I can't make any predictions on that," Kelly said. "He's just going to see what he can do today but I don't know what that means."
WR Torrey Smith practiced again today and looks to be on pace to play on Sunday. Smith missed the first game of his career this past weekend as he sat against the Patriots.
Kelly said that OLB Aaron Lynch has practiced all week, but would be a game time decision on Sunday. "He's practiced every day this week and we'll continue to monitor him and make a decision either after Saturday's practice or Sunday's workout," Kelly said.
Below is the Thursday practice participation report for both teams. The 49ers and the Miami Dolphins teams play each other on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT.
