San Francisco 49ers WR Quinton Patton joined the Damon Bruce Show on 95.7 The Game and was asked about becoming an unrestricted free agent during the offseason. Patton is coming to the end of his rookie contract with the 49ers and the team did not pick up his fifth-year option during this past offseason.

Patton was asked if he would like to be back with the 49ers or if, like other wide receiver teammates before him, he would like to go try on another uniform. "Hey, I just want to finish the season healthy, put my best foot forward with the 49ers," Patton answered. "I'm a 49er right now. I'm going to be a 49er on Sunday and for the last three games, you know what I'm saying? Whatever happens, happens, but I'm focused on this Sunday playing the New York Jets."

"I just want to win, you know what I'm saying," Patton said later when asked what he would do for the holidays. "Winning would just make everything better these holidays."

Speaking of other 49ers that have left via free agency, Patton was asked about receivers like Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin, who have found success in their post-49ers careers. He was asked if he wonders why guys like that, who are clearly still productive players, are not still his teammates. "That's just something I can't worry about," Patton answered. "Just still watch them on film and still learn from what they're doing."


This season, his first as a starter for the 49ers, Patton has a career high in receptions (31) and is on pace for a career high in receiving yards (currently at 347). However, he has yet to find the end zone. He has only had one career 100-yard game and that came this season against the New Orleans Saints when he had 106 on six receptions. Patton had a salary cap hit of $772,875 in 2016 and will likely look to cash in on his all-important second contract.
