Smith suffered a concussion during Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. He fell to the ground while attempting to haul in a 25-yard pass and his head crashed into the Levi's Stadium field. Smith remained on the field and was immediately looked at by training and medical staff. He sat up and was seen talking with team staff but was then taken to the 49ers' locker room on a cart for evaluation.
"You just have to wait until the symptoms go down," Smith said on KNBR 680 this morning. "I still have symptoms. I don't know how long that will be, whether it's only a week or two weeks or whatever. You just never know. It's my first time ever having one like this where I just got knocked out so it was pretty bad. I don't know. Things are getting better which is a good sign."
