Patton left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons with a foot injury in the second quarter and was carted to the locker room. The team was already without starting wide receiver Torrey Smith, who suffered a concussion the week before against the New York Jets. Patton was the team's other starting wide receiver.
Selected out of Louisiana Tech in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Patton was having his best season. He played in all 14 games for the 49ers, starting each one. During those games, Patton had 37 catches for 408 yards. Both are career highs.
Patton joins LB Nick Bellore and TE Blake Bell, who were both placed on injured reserve yesterday. All three injured players were hurt on Sunday in Atlanta.
