Next week, the San Francisco 49ers will meet with Carolina Panthers assistant general manager Brandon Beane next week for their vacant general manager position. News of the meeting was first reported by Peter Schrager of FOX Sports.

In 2012, he served as the Panthers' interim general manager for the final 10 games of the season prior to the hiring of Dave Gettleman, the team's current general manager. Carolina promoted Beane to assistant general manager in June of 2015.

Prior to the promotion, Beane spent seven seasons as the team's director of football operations. He has been responsible for directing portions of the team's drafts, putting together the team's draft boards for the past five years and helping to execute trades for cornerback Bene Benwikere, wide receiver Devin Funchess and offensive tackle Daryl Williams.

The 49ers already have a visit with Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott scheduled for next week. It is safe to say that the two will be met with within the same timeframe.
