Thankfully, everyone in the car survived. While one within the car suffered a couple of broken ribs and the other a gash on the head, Sienna suffered a broken leg and fractured lower vertebrae. While in the hospital, she went through three surgeries pretty serious surgeries but was able to finally leave the hospital on Tuesday after remaining there for 10 days.
An experience like this has obviously taken its toll on the family and friends of Sienna, who we hope and pray recovers soon. Prior to being released from the hospital, Sienna received a visit from her favorite 49ers player, NaVorro Bowman, who heard about the tragedy and decided to bring her a new jersey to replace the one she was wearing during the morning of the incident.
While meeting with Sienna, Bowman told her, "When you get back up and walking, I've got sideline passes for whatever game you want to go to, okay? And I'll make sure they know you went through what you went through and you overcame it, okay?"
As of this posting, Sienna is making the three-and-a-half hour journey home with her mother. Stay strong Sienna. Like the 49ers and the Niner Faithful, we're rooting for you.
