The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they will hold an introductory press conference with new head coach Kyle Shanahan and new general manager John Lynch on Thursday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m PT. The meeting with the media will take place in the Levi's Stadium auditorium. The press conference will likely be live streamed for fans on 49ers.com and CSN Bay Area.

Lynch has already spoken to Bay Area media via a conference call on the Monday after his hiring. A week later, he was joined by his new head coach and former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan. Both received six-year deals with the team as a commitment to giving them the time to rebuild a roster who many consider among the worst in the league.

Shanahan is coming off of a devastating 34-28 overtime loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI, where some of his play calling was criticized. He was named as the 49ers head coach the very next day.

Lynch and Shanahan have a lot of work ahead of them. The pair are already behind other NFL teams with new head coaching hires because Shanahan could not be officially brought on board until after the Super Bowl. Now they will have to build a coaching staff to work under the rookie head coach as well as prepare for offseason activities like free agency in March and the 2017 NFL Draft in April.

Lynch is expected to have final say on the 90-man roster, which includes free agency and the draft, while Shanahan is expected to have control of the final 53-man roster.
