"Terrelle Pryor is drawing interest from the Giants, 49ers, Titans, and Eagles as the free agency two-day negotiating window opens on Tuesday at noon, league sources told cleveland.com," writes Mary Kay Cabot.
On Tuesday at 9 a.m. Pacific, teams can begin negotiating the details of contracts with the agents of players who are set to become free agents on March 9. Contracts cannot officially be signed until 1 p.m. Pacific on Thursday.
The 49ers, who have $90.6 million in cap space following Colin Kaepernick opting out of his contract, have the money to be active in free agency.
Pryor is a quarterback turned wide receiver and had a breakout year with Cleveland in 2016. He was one of the few bright spots in an overwise miserable 1-15 season for the team. Pryor, who is 27-years old, caught 77 passes for 1,007 yards, four touchdowns, and had only four drops last season. At 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds, Pryor has good size for an NFL receiver.
"He's one of the best athletes in the NFL today," said cornerback Darrelle Revis. "For him to switch positions like he's done, and actually excel in a position swap, I tip my hat off to him."
Pryor had worked out for the 49ers in October of 2015, but the team decided not to sign him. He signed with Cleveland two months later.
Pryor was selected out of Ohio State by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Following his time in Oakland, he bounced around from team-to-team as a quarterback before signing with Cleveland in 2015. While 2016 was his first season used primarily as a wide receiver, Pryor also took some snaps at quarterback and even safety. He had three 100-plus yard games last season. During Week 3, he had 144 receiving yards on eight receptions in a 30-24 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
