According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the San Francisco 49ers are among the teams that are expected to show interest in Houston Texans CB A.J. Bouye. The other teams that Wilson names are the Texans, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Cleveland Browns.

Bouye, 25, finished last season with 63 tackles, one interception, and a sack through 15 games and 11 starts. He is considered to be among the best cornerbacks available in free agency. Teams are currently allowed to negotiate with agents of players but cannot actually execute contracts until Thursday at 1 p.m. Pacific.

The 49ers recently released WR Torrey Smith and S Antoine Bethea, which reportedly gives them over $99 million in salary cap space heading into free agency.

Bouye was signed as an undrafted free agent out of UCF by the Texans in 2013. In 2016, he was the third-highest graded cornerback according to Pro Football Focus.
