Trubisky is one of the top-rated quarterbacks available in the 2017 NFL Draft, which kicks off at the end of April. The 49ers will likely have the option of picking any quarterback in the draft, should they decide to use the second overall selection on the position. If not, the team's next selection is the number 34 overall pick.
During the 2016 season, Trubisky's only year as a starter, he completed 68.2-percent of his passes for 3,748 yards, 30 touchdowns, and six interceptions for the Tar Heels.
Trubisky's height was a concern heading into the NFL Scouting Combine, with many feeling that he would measure under his listed 6-foot-2 height. He ended up measuring in at over 6-foot-2.
"He grows on you," Lynch said of Trubisky at the NFL Scouting Combine. "The more you watch him, the more you like him."
It's no surprise that the 49ers are at North Carolina's pro day. Last week, Lynch said that the team would have a presence there. They also have a workout scheduled with Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson and plan to be at Notre Dame's pro day to watch DeShone Kizer. Notre Dame's pro day is on Thursday, March 23.
"We're going out next week," Lynch said on KNBR. "North Carolina has their pro day. Obviously, Trubisky's there but there's a lot of players. North Carolina's a very talented team so we'll have an opportunity to see a bunch then.
"We will have a workout with Deshaun Watson next week and then we'll stop back in South Bend. Notre Dame has their pro day and get a chance to see DeShone Kizer and his teammates."
"It's us and another team that are kind of sharing that workout," Lynch continued regarding the workout with Watson. "Those are really invaluable because there you get a chance to kind of run the workout and get to put him through the drills that you want to see and all those things."
