While San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch hits multiple locations on the other side of the country in order to scout college quarterbacks, head coach Kyle Shanahan remained close to home and is in attendance at Stanford's pro day.

Shanahan, running backs coach Bobby Turner, defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina, and other representatives from the team made the 13-mile trek west from the 49ers' headquarters in Santa Clara to watch the Stanford players hoping to be drafted or picked up by an NFL team starting next month.

The pro day will include top prospects like running back Christian McCaffrey and edge rusher Solomon Thomas. During an interview with the media at the NFL Scouting Combine, McCaffrey revealed that he had already met with the 49ers.

Seven other Stanford players are expected to showcase their talents at the pro day. They are wide receiver Michael Rector, wide receiver Francis Owusu, kicker Conrad Ukropina, safety Dallas Lloyd, linebacker Noor Davis, defensive lineman Jordan Watkins, and wide receiver Dontonio Jordan.

"The day consists of classroom testing, weight room evaluations, on-field agility drills and football-specific position drills," reports the school's official athletics website. The outdoor portion of the pro day is open to the public.
