Dunker had originally committed to the University of Florida but he transferred to Tennessee State following an arrest for grand theft of a scooter. Although, the charge reportedly originated from botched paperwork of the purchase of the scooter, according to the Palm Beach Post. In 2014, he started at left tackle and left guard for the Tigers. As a senior, Dunker started every game at left tackle and earned first-team All-OVC and numerous FCS All-American honors.
"When that stuff happened at UF, I was probably at my lowest point," Dunker said. "I was mad that it happened. I was kinda depressed. But TSU gave me another chance, and I went there and prospered. That started my climb back up to the top of the ranks."
In March, Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post wrote the following about the arrest:
"Dunker's version of the scooter story is that he paid cash for it from a graduating student, but didn't get the title or a receipt. The fact that it was a felony was particularly problematic for UF, which was struggling to clean up its image amid a rash of arrests."
While Dunker would like to remain a left tackle, the teams that have spoken to him have been interested in playing him at guard and he is more than willing to do so. His 108 inches in the broad jump at the NFL Scouting Combine ranked him seventh among the offensive lineman who participated. Dunker also ranked eighth in the vertical leap at 28.5 inches.
NFL.com wrote the following about Dunker within their scouting report:
"Dunker is an excellent athlete, but he is extremely raw and may not have enough core strength to consistently hold up against NFL power. His best chance is with a zone-oriented rushing team, but he will still need time to improve his technique and strength before he could become a factor on the depth chart."
