Matt Maiocco has been unable to post to his blog but was able to respond to a reader's question submitted as a comment on his last entry.

Reader: Do you think Jacobs being anointed the 3rd WR assures him a roster spot, and if so, does that mean Gilmore is the odd man out, assuming Lelie stays, of course.

Matt:
If you look at NFL production (as well as the financial commitment the 49ers made to him), it appears pretty clear Lelie stays. Gilmore caught just eight passes last season while playing 55 percent of the snaps. Jacobs played 433 fewer plays from scrimmage and caught just four passes fewer. Plus, Jacobs has been the most impressive WR on the team during camp.
