Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame DJ Steven Seaweed announced in May that he would be retiring after 44 years in the business. This is his final week on the air and he will call it quits on Friday, June 30th.

In honor of his lengthy and successful radio career, Seaweed got a special visit from 49ers director of broadcast partnerships Bob Sargent, who presented Steven with a custom team jersey.

Seaweed debuted on a Carmel, California radio station on New Year's Eve in 1972 and has spent the past 20 years with KSAN-FM (107.7 The Bone).

"They want to keep me around," Seaweed told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I'm getting great ratings. It's totally my decision. It's just a good time. I've been doing it for 44 years. Besides, my Pops said, 'Just think about going out on top.' That's great advice. And I am going out on top."

Seaweed, a cancer survivor, works with fellow survivor Bob Hammer on the Have a Ball Foundation, which has raised nearly $3 million for cancer charities.
