Last year, the 49ers held an open practice for fans at the historic Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. That practice was watched by about 9,000 dedicated fans and was part of the team's 70th anniversary season celebration. While the team had hoped to make Kezar Stadium an annual location for an open practice, it is unknown if that will be a destination this year.
Tickets to these types of practices are typically free and fans enter a lottery to obtain them. Season ticket holders usually get the first shot at entering the pool of names.
As in previous years, it is expected that the team will have 49ers alumni on hand to interact with and sign autographs for the Niner Faithful. Also typically present are the Gold Rush cheerleaders and entertainment for younger fans.
The 49ers report to training camp on July 27th with the open practice likely to take place sometime after that date. Any open practices will give most fans a first look at how new head coach Kyle Shanahan manages the sessions as well as a look at the team's numerous new players.
