On Thursday morning, the San Francisco 49ers waived wide receiver Bruce Ellington, which left an open spot on the roster. The 49ers have announced that they have signed LB Jayson DiManche to a one-year deal to fill that vacant roster spot.

DiManche returns to the 49ers after signing with the team on April 7. He was released on May 2.

DiManche was originally signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in May of 2013. In two seasons with Cincinnati, he appeared in 28 games and had one start. DiManche had 13 tackles and one pass defended during his time there.

Following his release by the Bengals prior to the start of the 2015 season, he spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs before appearing in one game with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns released DiManche that December and he was then signed to the Bengals' practice squad in January of 2016. DiManche spent the following training camp with the Bengals but was released that August. The next day, he signed with the Detroit Lions before being released on September 3, 2016.
