Foster is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain he suffered during Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. Reid is recovering from a PCL injury he suffered during Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Linebacker NaVorro Bowman, defensive end Elvis Dumervil, and tackle Joe Staley were each given a veteran's day off.
Two 49ers running backs were limited during Wednesday's practice. The team is being cautious with Carlos Hyde, who is recovering from a hip injury, and Matt Breida, who has an ankle injury.
