San Francisco 49ers vice president of player personnel Adam Peters will be among the NFL contingent in attendance during Saturday's Penn State versus Northwestern game, according to Adam Hoge of WGN Radio. Other teams that will be reportedly represented include the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, and Minnesota Vikings.

Some early top prospects from Penn State include running back Saquon Barkley, safety Marcus Allen, and tight end Mike Gesicki, who are all within CBS Sports' Top 100 list. Northwestern has safety Godwin Igwebuike on the list.

The 49ers remain winless through four games this season. If the season ended today, San Francisco would be selecting with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, behind the winless Cleveland Browns due to the 49ers having a stronger strength of schedule.

Peters was in attendance at the September 23 matchup between UCLA and Stanford, presumably to observe Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen, among others.

Peters, who was officially hired by the 49ers on January 31, was the first big hire by new general manager John Lynch. Lynch was officially named as the 49ers' general manager just two days before Peters was brought onboard. The well-respected Peters, who grew up as a die-hard 49ers fan, previously served as the Denver Broncos' director of college scouting.

Saturday's game between Penn State and Northwestern will kick off in Evanston, Illinois at 11:00 a.m. Central.
