While news of Garoppolo joining the 49ers has dominated the headlines this week, the team still has to prepare for a game. The 49ers will face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium.

Right tackle Trent Brown told reporters that he is symptom-free from the concussion he suffered during a Week 7 contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Brown, who was inactive during Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, is still waiting to be medically cleared for a game but did participate in practice on Wednesday. He missed all of last week's practices. A little thin along the offensive line due to other injuries, the 49ers are hoping Brown can play on Sunday.
Left tackle Joe Staley, who was one of the offensive linemen injured against the Eagles, did not practice and is expected to miss at least a couple of games due to a fractured orbital bone.
Linebacker Reuben Foster (ribs), who was also inactive against Philadelphia, and running back Matt Breida (knee) practiced in blue no-contact jerseys.
After playing significant time at linebacker over the last two games, Eric Reid has returned to practicing with the safeties. The 49ers placed Jimmie Ward on injured reserve due to a fractured forearm suffered against the Eagles.
Below are the official Wednesday practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, as provided by the 49ers Communications department.
