On Thursday, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo earned his first league-sponsored award when he was named the FedEx NFL Air Player of the Week.

On Friday, Garoppolo earned another NFL honor when he was named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week for his performance against the Tennessee Titans.

Garoppolo is coming off of his third-straight start with the 49ers. During the Week 15 victory over the Titans, he passed for a single-game career-high 381 yards, a touchdown, and a passer rating of 106.8.

How "clutch" was Garoppolo against the Titans? He engineered a game-winning scoring drive in the fourth quarter. Trailing 22-23 with 1:07 left in the game, Garoppolo moved the offense down the field while completing three of his five attempts for 45 yards to set up kicker Robbie Gould for the game-winning 45-yard field goal as time expired.

In his three starts this season, Garoppolo has led the team to three-straight victories (vs. Bears, Texans, Titans) and completed 77 of his 113 pass attempts for 1,008 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Garoppolo beat out safety Duran Harmon of the New England Patriots, quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, quarterback Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles, and cornerback Marcus Peters of the Kansas City Chiefs.

There's been no word on how much Castrol Edge motor oil is included with the award, but congratulations to the 49ers quarterback anyway.
