San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch revealed on Tuesday that linebacker Brock Coyle had surgery on a torn labrum and is expected to miss approximately five to six months.

Other injury updates include defensive end Arik Armstead, who was placed on injured reserve on October 17, had a bone spur in his toe removed.

Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who left this past Sunday's game with an injury, sustained a sternum contusion. Lynch indicated that he is doing better.

The 49ers will already be without right tackle Trent Brown for the start of their offseason program. The offensive lineman was placed on injured reserve on December 16 with a shoulder injury. His labrum surgery will require five to six months of recovery.
