Other teams that traveled to watch Sullivan include the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, and Kansas City Chiefs.
"Sullivan, who still has some tightness in his hamstring, ran the forty in times which ranged from 4.48s to 4.51s," wrote Pauline. "That's a marked improvement from his combine time of 4.60s. He timed 7s in the 3 cone, touched 40 inches in the vertical jump (40.5 inches at the combine) and reached 11-feet-2-inches in the broad jump, tying his mark from Indianapolis.
"Sullivan was then put through positional drills by the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The senior entered the season without being graded by NFL scouts but now stands as a solid last day pick."
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 5-foot-11 and 195-pound Sullivan had a 40-time of 4.60 seconds, a vertical jump of 40.5 inches, a broad jump of 134 inches, had 15 reps in the bench press, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.36 seconds.
Sullivan holds Georgia State records for interceptions (seven) and pass breakups (18), according to Lance Zierlein of NFL Media. He started 12 games for the Panthers last year and helped the team reach its first bowl win. Sullivan registered 46 combined tackles, an interception, and five passes defensed in 2017, according to Sports Reference. He also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.
In four seasons with Georgia State, Sullivan recorded 182 combined tackles, two sacks, seven interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 18 passes defensed, and two fumble recoveries.
NFL.com projects that Sullivan to be a late Day 3 pick or possibly an undrafted free agent. Of course, his stock may have risen since that prediction.
Zierlein of had the following to say in his scouting report:
"Sullivan has decent size and has been a consistent contributor since his freshman season, but his average instincts and inability to stay in phase prevents him from making more plays on the ball. Sullivan isn't overly fast or physical and may need to play well at the Senior Bowl to help him prove he's an NFL-caliber talent."
