The San Francisco 49ers hosted former Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers defensive back LaDarius Gunter on Thursday, according to general manager John Lynch, who spoke to reporters at Stanford's pro day.

The Packers signed Gunter as an undrafted free agent out of Miami in 2015. In three NFL seasons, he has registered 56 combined tackles, 12 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles. The bulk of Gunter's playing time came in 2016 when he started 15 games for Green Bay and recorded 54 combined tackles, 12 passes defensed, and two forced fumbles. The Packers released Gunter on September 12, 2017, and the Panthers claimed him off waivers the next day.

Gunter did not record a tackle in five game appearances last year between the Packers (1 game) and Panthers (4 games).

In college, Gunter started all 26 games for the Hurricanes during his junior (2013) and senior (2014) years. He registered 46 tackles and three interceptions as a junior and 28 tackles and two interceptions as a senior.
