San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garçon may not be too concerned about the Rams' offseason additions, saying "They still can't stop us" to teammate Marquise Goodwin. However, the strengthening of the defensive front, as well as the upgrades to the pass defense, has to be concerning to NFC West offensive coordinators.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with Peter Schrager of Good Morning Football on Tuesday regarding the Rams' addition of Suh.
"It is what it is," Shanahan said. "He's a good player. There's a lot of good players in this league. I know one of the best is there too with Donald. It's going to be a huge challenge. I was messaging with (Rams head coach) Sean (McVay) last night about it. I'm sure they're going to draft some more good ones also.
"We plan on improving our team, which I think we've done. It's going to be a challenge this year. I think it's going to be a challenge for years to come and we look forward to it."
It's not just the Rams that Shanahan is concerned about. He knows his team is part of a tough division.
"I think we've got four good teams in our division," Shanahan said. "I know Arizona and Seattle have been at it for a while, and I'm not going to act like they're not going to be there every year also. We've got four good organizations, good coaches, good players. It's a tough division to be in, but it makes it more fun also."
