In four seasons with the Jayhawks, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Johnson had 61 receptions for 670 yards with two touchdowns. In 2017, the pass-catcher and blocker hauled in 30 passes for 363 yards and a touchdown as a senior.
"I think I'm pretty good at blocking," Johnson told KU Sports last year before the start of the collegiate season. "You've got to have that grit when it comes down to putting your hand down on the ground and being able to man up with a D-end… But I also think I've got pretty good hands, too. So that kind of broadens what I can do."
Johnson told Draft Diamonds in December that he compares himself to Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs because he's "not afraid to go up and get it." Johnson grew as a Chiefs fan.
