The San Francisco 49ers will host edge defender Arden Key from LSU for a pre-draft visit at the team's facility, per a report from NFL.com. The team will also put him through a workout.

"The former LSU linebacker has a tight schedule of workouts and visits in the coming weeks," states the report. "A pair of NFL clubs -- the 49ers and Saints -- have scheduled both a visit and workout with Key."

"Those are two great programs," Key said of the 49ers and Saints. "I can't wait to show them what I can do on the field and then get to visit their facilities."

In three seasons with the Tigers, Key registered 130 combined tackles, 26.5 for a loss, and 21 sacks. His best statistical season came in 2016 when he recorded 56 combined tackles, 14.5 for a loss, and 12 sacks.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-6 and 238-pound Key had a vertical jump of 31 inches, a broad jump of 117 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 7.16 seconds, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.25 seconds. Other measurables for Key include an arm length of 33 1/2 inches and hands that measure 10 inches.

NFL.com projects Key to be a first- or second-round draft pick.

Lance Zierlein of NFL Media, who compares Key to Willie Young, had the following to say in his scouting report:

"After watching Key closely for three seasons, it is accurate to say the 2017 version was the least exciting to date. Key's length and ability to slither around blockers to threaten the pocket has never been in question, but this season he lacked the necessary suddenness and conditioning to project as an effective pro. There are red flags with Key, but a strong Combine performance could go a long way in getting his draft stock back on track. He has the potential to become a productive edge rusher as a starting 3-4 outside linebacker or as a designated pass rusher in even fronts."

Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst had the following to say in his scouting report:

"Key has displayed himself as a game-changing pass rusher at the top of his game, but he's also been inconsistent in in all areas. If he's focused on football and the task at hand, he will be a productive starter at the next level, otherwise we could be looking at the next Randy Gregory."
