San Francisco will participate in five prime-time games, including back-to-back matchups against the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants during Weeks 9 and 10.
All but one of the East Coast teams on the 49ers' schedule will have to travel to Levi's Stadium. San Francisco will go to the Eastern time zone just once during the regular season for a road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 49ers will also face five teams with new head coaches, one of which they will play twice. The Arizona Cardinals hired Steve Wilks, Jon Gruden joined the Raiders, Matt Nagy signed on with the Chicago Bears, the Giants snagged Pat Shurmur, and Matt Patricia left the New England Patriots for the Detroit Lions. The 49ers will have a significant home-field advantage in those six games with just one – a road trip to play one of the two games against the Cardinals – being away from the comforts of Levi's Stadium.
Of the eight teams visiting Levi's Stadium in 2018, only one made the playoffs last season – the defending NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams. They face three playoff teams, including the Rams, on the road.
