Frank Gore ranks fifth on the list of all-time leading rushers with 14,026 yards and is just 75 yards shy of the number four spot currently owned by Curtis Martin. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards nine times in his 13-year career and started all 16 games in each of his last six NFL seasons.

Before Gore spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, who made him a third-round pick in 2005, he was a running back for the Miami Hurricanes. Through 28 college games, he carried the football 348 times for 1,975 yards (5.7 average) with 17 touchdowns, per Sports Reference. Gore's rushing yard total ranks seventh on the school's all-time rushing list.

Gore, who returns home to Miami after signing with the Dolphins this offseason, is being inducted into the UM Sports Hall of Fame. Last week, he was presented with a ceremonial key to the city. Last weekend, Gore attended Miami's spring game where he got to watch his younger cousin, cornerback Gilbert Frierson.

Gore was joined by former Hurricanes coach Larry Coker and former teammate Devin Hester as one of the nine former Hurricanes inducted into the UM Sports Hall of Fame.


"Everything is going in the right direction. Last week, I get the key to the city, now I'm getting inducted into the [Hall of Fame] at a school that's had a bunch of great players that were great in college and also the NFL," Gore said via the Sun Sentinel. "Now I'm in the Hall of Fame with them. And I get to play back in Miami, in front of my college friends, my kids, my coaches from Pop Warner to high school. It's a blessing."
