The 2019 NFL Draft will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, the league announced on Wednesday.

NFL owners approved the Tennessee Titans' bid to hold the annual rookie selection process during the Spring League Meeting in Atlanta. Next year's draft, which will be the 84th, is scheduled to take place April 25-27, 2019.

This year's draft took place at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas. It was the first draft held in an NFL stadium. Last year's event was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while Chicago, Illinois hosted the draft in 2015 and 2016. Before that, the long-time host city was New York.

"Following an exciting and successful event in Dallas, we're thrilled to take the NFL draft to Nashville. The city has a passionate fan base and offers iconic locations that will enable us to expand the Draft in unique ways," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said on Wednesday. "We look forward to working with the Tennessee Titans, the City of Nashville, and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp to deliver a memorable celebration of football to our fans and incoming players."

Other locations like Las Vegas, Nevada, and Denver, Colorado, were also under consideration.
