Richard Sherman is hosting several top cornerbacks in the Bay Area this week, as they work to refine their coverage skills in advance of training camp. The session features footwork coach Richard Whitfield, multiple Pro Bowlers, and 49ers second-year cornerback Akhello Witherspoon. Witherspoon assumed a starting role last season, and will look to build on an encouraging end to the year. Offseason observers have frequently remarked that Witherspoon looks miles ahead of where he was last offseason, in terms of both technique and confidence. The work alongside elite NFL corners should only accelerate his progress.
