EA Sports posted the names of the top-rated NFL rookies of the 2018 NFL Draft class in Madden 19. The multi-platform football game is scheduled for release on August 10.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Dante Pettis was the third-highest rated rookie among his position group. Below are the top five rookie receivers in the game, where they were drafted in April, and their game rating as of right now.

  1. D.J. Moore, Carolina Panthers (Pick No. 24) - 77 OVR
  2. Calvin Ridley, Atlanta Falcons (Pick No. 26) - 77 OVR
  3. Dante Pettis, San Francisco 49ers (Pick No. 44) - 76 OVR
  4. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos (Pick No. 40) - 75 OVR
  5. Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears (Pick No. 51) - 74 OVR

Pettis' rating is slightly higher than Sutton's, who was selected four spots earlier in April's draft. After explaining the reasoning behind Moore's and Ridley's ratings, the EA Sports website had the following to say about Pettis':

"Pettis and the other WRs mentioned so far are under the Deep Threat Archetype, so he carries similar scores in his ratings. At 90 Speed, he doesn't carry the same breakaway potential as Moore or Ridley, but his hands are a nice tradeoff. An 85 Catching makes him the most dependable of this five. He can't do anything too fancy with it once he catches it, without a ball carrying move above 90, but at least he can grab the pass if it's within reach."

As for the rest of the team, you can see here which players were among the nine highest-rated 49ers in Madden 19.

The highest rated rookie in the game is Indianapolis Colts guard Quenton Nelson, who received a rating of 83. New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was the highest-rated skill position player at 82.
