San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman and Waianae native, Deforest Buckner, has become the newest spokesman for the Jack in the Box fast-food chain in Hawaii. The partnership is part of a fundraising campaign for the Boys and Girls Club. Buckner even has a Jack in the Box combo meal, priced at $9.99, named after him.

Buckner met with and signed autographs for fans at a local franchise last week to promote the combo. A portion of the meal's sales will be donated to the youth organization.

"It's crazy how everything's full circle in being able to give back," Buckner told KITV4. "Being in the NFL, it's given me the stage and the platform to give back, and that was always one of my goals growing up. One of them was obviously being a professional athlete, but at the same time being able to be an influence and role model in the community."

Buckner also generously donated 65 sets of uniforms and cleats in addition to footballs to the 808 Youth Football Association's Westside Cyclones. Buckner told KHON2 that, growing up in Waianae, it was always difficult to find cleats.

Keiana Martin of 49ers.com reports that Buckner is preparing to be married later this month. 49ers players are on a break until the team reports to training camp on July 25.
