It's a bird! It's a plane! No, that's Pierre Garçon jumping out of a plane. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver recently took to the air for the thrill of plummeting at excessive speed toward the Earth.

"I was good until they opened the door," wrote Garçon via Instagram.

Garçon added the hashtag #SoHappyTheParachuteOpened.

You can use the post below to scroll through the photos from Garçon's experience, which begins with him boarding the plane and ends with safely landing on the ground.

Garçon is preparing to enter his second season with the 49ers and 11th in the NFL. His 2017 season was cut short following a neck injury during Week 8. Garçon finished the season with 40 catches for 500 yards and was on pace for his third career 1,000-yard season before the injury.

"It was a huge challenge when we lost Pierre halfway through the year, especially with him being the veteran of that group, one of the only guys who had ever started before," said head coach Kyle Shanahan in January.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will benefit from having the savvy veteran at his disposal. Garçon was injured just days before the 49ers finalized the trade for the quarterback. This offseason was Garoppolo's first opportunity to work with Garçon.

"[Pierre] is as reliable as they come," Garoppolo said in June. "He has that veteran mentality of he knows exactly what to do. He's going to help you out, do whatever he can to put you in good situation as the quarterback."

49ers players are on a break until the team reconvenes for training camp on July 25.
