Garnett missed Sunday's practice session after banging knees with a teammate during Saturday's outing.
The 49ers will hold their first practice of the week on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. after having Monday off.
"Ronald Blair and rookie Jullian Taylor are the backups behind Armstead at 'big end,'" notes Matt Barrows of The Athletic.
The good news is that five players are returning from injury lists. They are guard Jonathan Cooper, wide receiver Trent Taylor, linebacker Dekoda Watson, safety Marcell Harris, and linebacker Malcolm Smith. The first three come off the physically unable to perform list while the latter two come off the non-football injury list.
Returning from injury:
G Jonathan Cooper (knee)
S Marcell Harris (Achilles)
LB Malcolm Smith (lower leg)
WR Trent Taylor (back)
LB Dekoda Watson (calf)
Will miss time:
DL Arik Armstead (hamstring, week-to-week)
TE Cole Hikutini (groin, out this week)
G Joshua Garnett (knee, day-to-day)
