San Francisco 49ers fans have likely seen the last of Reuben Foster until the team's Week 3 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year linebacker sustained a concussion during Saturday's 23-17 exhibition loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Because of his two-game suspension for violations of the league's policies on substances of abuse and personal conduct, general manager John Lynch said Foster might see some playing time during the 49ers' fourth and final preseason game — a matchup on Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Foster will enter the concussion protocol this week, which makes the chances of him playing in that game unlikely.

Foster registered two tackles and a stop for a loss against the Colts on Saturday before exiting the game.
