The experts who have the 49ers winning nine games this season are columnist Dan Hanzus, former scout and current analyst Daniel Jeremiah, former player and current analyst Maurice Jones-Drew, and analyst Elliot Harrison. The lone expert who did not have the 49ers finishing with nine wins was analytics expert Cynthia Frelund, who predicts a 7-9 record for San Francisco.
The 49ers enter their second season with head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch at the helm. The team's six wins in 2017 placed it last in the NFC West.
A five-game winning streak to end last season set up high expectations for the upcoming campaign. Inside of the building, the team knows last season's finish means nothing when predicting an outcome for this year's squad.
"We know this year is going to be tough," Shanahan said on Tuesday. "It's going to be a challenge. We're going to have to play a heck of a lot better than we did last year to get more than six wins."
San Francisco kicks off the regular season on Sunday, September 9 against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
