Mike Person was the San Francisco 49ers' starting right guard on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. He left the game with a foot injury and was replaced by Joshua Garnett. Garnett later left the game with a toe injury. The situation forced the 49ers to play Garry Gilliam at right tackle and move rookie Mike McGlinchey from the outside to right guard, a position he had never played before.

Neither Person nor Garnett has practiced this week, and head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't sound too optimistic during his Thursday KNBR interview about either player's chances of playing on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The 49ers promoted offensive lineman Najee Toran from the practice squad to the active roster this week. Shanahan said he expects Toran to start against Detroit barring a miraculous recovery by either Person or Garnett.

"Right now, we're still waiting on some guys to get healthy," Shanahan said on the "Tolbert & Lund" show. "I'm not sure if they're going to be able to by Sunday. We've had to take Najee Toran — we moved him up from our practice squad on [Wednesday]. He's gotten most of the reps here throughout the week, and I'm expecting him to be our guy here on Sunday unless we can have a miraculous recovery by some of the other guys."

You can listen to the entire conversation with Shanahan below. It also features the 49ers head coach doing his best Sean McVay impression at about the 12:24 mark.
