The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of two-straight victories to open the season, during which they averaged 40 points per game. Sunday will be the team's home opener in front of an excited Arrowhead Stadium crowd. Second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already thrown 10 touchdown passes, which is the most by a player during the first two games of the season in NFL history.

Who will be tasked with stopping Mahomes and the Chiefs? The San Francisco 49ers.

No pressure, right?

The 49ers are coming off of a 30-27 victory over the Detroit Lions. While the win improved the team's record to 1-1, not everyone was thrilled by the performance, which saw the Lions nearly come back and steal away the victory.

"A win is a win, but it feels like a loss to me," cornerback Richard Sherman said after the game. "We played like crap down the stretch on defense."

As things stand now, Vegas oddsmakers have the home-team Chiefs listed as anywhere from 6- to 7-point favorites over Sherman and the visiting 49ers, according to various casinos and betting sites.

The spread consensus has the Chiefs as 6.5-point favorites. Those numbers could change as the game draws near. The over/under for Sunday's game is listed at 56 points.

San Francisco came out on top by a score of 22-17 the last time the two teams met — an October 5, 2014 matchup at Levi's Stadium. The Chiefs, however, have won four straight over the 49ers at Arrowhead.

The 49ers and Chiefs kick off at 10:00 a.m. PT (12:00 p.m. CT) on Sunday.
