Safety Jaquiski Tartt missed his second-straight practice of the week after suffering a shoulder injury against the Detroit Lions. Who steps in if Tartt cannot go against the Chiefs?
"There's (Antone) Exum getting his reps," defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said before Thursday's practice. "Of course, Tyvis (Powell) is getting his reps. D.J. Reed can also get reps in there. Again, that's another area where we're working through it to make sure we can put the best player forward. And so there's three guys working in that spot while JT's not practicing."
Cornerback Richard Sherman (heel) appeared on Thursday's injury report. Neither he not Saleh mentioned the injury while speaking with reporters on Thursday.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Chiefs, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
