Kittle is on a franchise-record pace, and it doesn't seem to matter who is behind center. The second-year tight end joined KNBR on Tuesday afternoon and explained how he fails to miss a beat despite two quarterback changes this season.
"A lot of that, that's on Coach Shanahan, and then the three quarterbacks that we have," Kittle said on the "Fitz & Brooks" show. "All three of them came in, they're all prepared for every single game plan.
When Jimmy was starting, C.J. and Nick both knew the game plan up and down, sideways, backwards. So when they had to get inserted into the game plan, we didn't have to change anything. We could just play with them, and that's a complete testament to the quarterbacks and then Coach Shanahan and his trust in them.
"We haven't been switching things up at all. They just come in, a cog in the machine, and we're still clicking. That's on the quarterbacks, just how much they prepare, and how much they give our team a chance to win."
Kittle is on pace for 80 catches for 1,240 yards with six games left to play. That would set a franchise record for tight ends and place him sixth all-time in a single season for his position.
