Goodwin is expected to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos at Levi's Stadium after missing the 49ers' past two games. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that Goodwin will practice on Wednesday.
"I'm just happy that he's doing better, good enough to be back in the building," Shanahan said. "I just got to see him a little bit in meetings today, so we'll see him out at practice today, see where he's at, how he looks, and we'll decide as the week goes."
The 49ers have been without their starting wideouts for the past two games. In addition to Goodwin, the San Francisco offense has been missing Pierre Garçon, who has been dealing with a knee injury for most of the season. It's an injury that continues to plague him, making his week-to-week status unpredictable.
The 49ers kick off Wednesday's session at 12:05 p.m. PT and will hold two more practices this week.
