McGlinchey allowed six quarterback pressures, which included four hits and two hurries, according to Pro Football Focus. It was his roughest outing of the season, per the analytics site. Three of McGlinchey's allowed pressures were given up to Mack, who had one quarterback hit and two hurries while going against the rookie tackle.
McGlinchey joined KNBR on Wednesday morning and offered up self- and team-evaluations for the 2018 season.
"I think that both have a lot of things that we did well, but there's also a lot of things that you need to improve," McGlinchey said on the "Murph & Mac" show. "I think that it was great to see that individually, I was able to stack games together and get better each one. Obviously, I wasn't perfect by any means, but I need to be (perfect) and want to be. But I was growing as the season went on and I think the same can be said for this team.
"I think the results weren't quite there yet, but the things that we learned along the way and the way we were able to play, and the way we were able to go into each game was definitely a huge bonus and step in the right direction for us."
Only the Rams stand in the way of the offseason for McGlinchey and the 49ers. The last time the two teams met, Los Angeles embarrassed San Francisco by a score of 39-10 at Levi's Stadium. Now, the 49ers look to upset the playoff-bound Rams on their home turf, as they did in last year's season finale.
"We know what they did to us earlier in the season, and we want to make sure that doesn't happen again," McGlinchey said. "That's the mindset that we're having all this week, is just to finish the season the right way and get a win against LA."
The 49ers have some recent experience at rebounding after embarrassing losses. The team suffered a 43-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on December 2 and then beat them in overtime two weeks later.
