Tom Pelissero of NFL Network notes that it's the sixth-straight year the cap has risen at least $10 million per franchise.
Every four years, each team is required to spend at least 89 percent of its cap space to avoid violations.
The number puts the 49ers' salary cap space at nearly $67.5 million, according to OverTheCap.com, which currently ranks seventh in the NFL in terms of available money and is around the same amount the team had at this time last year. The Indianapolis Colts have the largest surplus with $106.4 in cap space.
NFL free agency kicks off at the start of the new league year on March 13. Teams can begin negotiating with the agents of impending free agents on March 11.
