Some rumors are circulating about the Cleveland Browns being a potential landing spot for Odell Beckham Jr. should the New York Giants choose to trade the receiver.

"I checked with some sources of mine in Cleveland," Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports said on Wednesday. "They say they've got nothing cooking on Odell Beckham. But I did hear at the Combine pretty strongly that, for the right price, Odell Beckham can be had.

"The Giants are willing to continue listening to teams. It will take a very high price, but we've seen a lot of receivers in the past traded for two ones, for instance."

La Canfora says the media might want to pump the brakes on the Beckham-to-Browns buzz but adds, "Cleveland, Oakland, and San Francisco are the teams I've heard most connected to Odell Beckham."



As La Canfora states, it might cost a lot to convince the Giants to part ways with Beckham. The receiver is a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has registered 1,000-or-more yards in all but one of his five NFL seasons, and recorded double-digit touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.

Beckham caught 77 passes for 1,052 yards with six touchdowns through 12 games this past season, which was cut short by a quad injury. The Giants signed Beckham to a five-year, $95 million extension last August, which will keep him under contract through 2023.

That could be attractive to a team like the San Francisco 49ers, who could easily absorb his contract without worrying about a contract extension anytime soon.

Giants general manager Dave Gettleman tried to squash the trade rumors last week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

"We didn't sign Odell to trade him," Gettleman said. "I know that's all over the place, so understand that. That's all I need to say about that."
