The San Francisco 49ers have announced they have signed kicker Jonathan Brown to a two-year deal.

The Cincinnati Bengals initially signed Brown as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 8, 2016. He spent time on and off the Bengals roster and practice squad over the next three years and connected on all six of his field goal attempts during the 2018 preseason before ultimately being waived on September 1, 2018.

Brown played college football for Louisville from 2012 through 2015 after transferring from Kentucky in 2011.

The 49ers used the non-exclusive franchise tag on kicker Robbie Gould in late-February, keeping him with the team on a one-year deal worth $4.971 million. He has served as the team's kicker for the past two seasons.

It's common for NFL teams to carry two kickers during the offseason to handle the workload during the minicamps, organized team activities, and training camp.
