That doesn't mean the team wouldn't be able to handle a big personality in its locker room. Running back Matt Breida believes the 49ers locker room would survive with such an individual. He joined KNBR on Friday night and was asked (without naming names) if the team can handle a big personality.
"Yeah, most definitely," Breida responded to host Mark Willard. "I think if the person who comes in and decides to accept our culture and what we're about, I think anything can fit and work.
"We're worried about the team. We're not a selfish team. We've got a lot of young guys who came in at the same time. We believe in playing for each other so whoever comes in, if they follow by those rules, and decide they want to win with us, then hey, we're all about it."
Breida also discussed the following topics during his 14-minute discussion with Willard.
- His experience being an undrafted free agent.
- Why he chose to sign with the 49ers.
- His relationship with former college teammate, Jerick McKinnon.
- Jimmy Garoppolo and McKinnon's injuries.
- Being a high school teammate with his eventual wife.
- Garoppolo's ability to be the team's leader.
