Former James Madison cornerback Jimmy Moreland worked out for three NFL teams last week, including the San Francisco 49ers. The team must have come away impressed with him. The 49ers will host a pre-draft visit with Moreland in Santa Clara, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

The New York Giants and Chicago Bears will also host Moreland, per the report.

NFL teams are permitted to host up to 30 players for official pre-draft visits at their facilities. Unlike local prospects, those players are not allowed to work out for the team during the visit.

The 49ers are becoming very familiar with Moreland. Before last week's workout, the 5-foot-11 cornerback was part of the South squad, which was coached by Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers staff, at the Senior Bowl in January. He registered three tackles and a tackle for a loss in the game. Moreland also impressed during the East-West Shrine Game where he recorded a tackle, pass breakup, and a 61-yard return on a missed field goal.

Moreland racked up 56 tackles, 7.5 for a loss, and five interceptions while returning three for scores during his senior year with the Dukes. He registered 208 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 63 passes defensed in four seasons and left the program as the school's all-time leader in interceptions with 18, six of which were returned for touchdowns.
