Barrows writes the following about Layne:
"The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranks Layne as the No. 6 cornerback in the draft, writing that the nearly 6-2 defender 'can mirror-and-match from press-coverage and has outstanding ball skills.'"
Layne registered 72 combined tackles, 2.5 for a loss, half a sack, an interception, and 15 passes defensed as a junior in 2018. He recorded 112 combined tackles over the past two seasons.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-2 and 192-pound Layne had a 40-time of 4.5 seconds, a vertical jump of 37.5 inches, a broad jump of 134 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 6.9 seconds, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 49 seconds. Other measurables for Layne include an arm length of 33 inches and hands that measure 9 1/4 inches.
NFL.com projects Layne to be a second-round draft pick.

Barrows writes the following about Harris:
"At nearly 6-2, Harris has the length the 49ers like at the position. However, he also has an injury history — labrum, wrist — that could sink his stock a bit."
The 49ers met with Harris at Virginia's pro day in March. He was a four-star recruit out of high school, registered 109 tackles, four interceptions, 17 passes defensed, and one fumble recovery in six seasons at Virginia.
As Barrows states, Harris has had injury problems. He was injured just two games into his senior year and missed the remainder of the 2016 season. Harris suffered a wrist injury during the opener of his redshirt senior season in 2017. He was granted a sixth year of eligibility and recorded 36 combined tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defensed through 11 games in his final season with the Cavaliers.
