As expected, the San Francisco 49ers made former Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The selection turns a team weakness, the pass rush, into a potential strength. The 49ers already upgraded their pass rush this offseason by trading for former Kansas City Chiefs defender Dee Ford.

Adding Bosa creates a potential starting defensive line made up of Bosa, Ford, DeForest Buckner, and either Arik Armstead or D.J. Jones lining up along the interior. The team also has former No. 3 overall pick Solomon Thomas, who has played on the outside and interior during his two seasons with the 49ers.

Bosa's new NFL teammates expressed their thoughts on social media about the selection.

Here was the fan reaction from the 49ers draft party at Pier 35 in San Francisco.
