Of course, everyone wants to know about Garoppolo's rehab from a torn ACL suffered in late-September. The quarterback feels his recovery is going well and says there have been no setbacks.
"Things have been really good," Garoppolo said. "We're out there throwing, getting with the receivers and tight ends, all those guys. It's good to have everyone back in the building again."
Garoppolo is happy to have the 49ers facility bustling, which is a nice change of pace from how things were before mid-April when only rehabbing players were allowed in the building.
"For a while there, it was just the injured guys — me and [running back Jerick McKinnon]," Garoppolo said.
McKinnon is also rehabbing a torn ACL. Although, his injury occurred about three weeks before Garoppolo's.
Expectations for the 49ers are steadily rising this offseason. A lot of that has to do with Garoppolo's return after the team went through most of last season without him. San Francisco was aggressive in bolstering its pass rush which ranked No. 22 in quarterback sacks last year. The team added bookends Dee Ford and Nick Bosa while luring linebacker Kwon Alexander in free agency.
The 49ers also added two receivers and a tight end via the draft. Garoppolo is eager to meet with the rookies, integrate them with the returning players, and introduce them to the team culture.
Garoppolo was asked how much pressure he and his teammates feel to get the 49ers back to the playoffs.
"The outside pressure, it is what it is," he responded. "It will always be there, and it's a good thing. It's an opportunity. But at the end of the day, in our locker room, we have some pretty high standards. We've been putting a lot of pressure on ourselves, holding ourselves to a high standard, getting everyone ready to play, getting everyone on the same page."
